Puncture Repairs

You find yourself with a flat tyre, so what now?

Firstly, you need to check that the vehicle is in a safe place to change the tyre.

For instance if you are driving when you realise your tyre has gone flat, pull over to a safe place to inspect.

Your owners manual will have the instructions on how to change your tyre.

It will also give you additional information about speed limits on pace savers for example.

Once you have safely changed the tyre, best be on your way to our Arundel workshop to have the tyre repaired or replaced.

Is my tyre repairable?

Any punctures that are in the side wall or shoulder of the tyre cannot be repaired.

However if the puncture is in the thread of the tyre that is in contact with the road it canoe repaired.

Due to the repair being a less expensive, it doesn’t hurt to drop in and let us take a look.

Note: Some runflat tyres are not able to be puncture repaired.

How is a puncture repair carried out?

Our technicians will remove the tyre from the rim. A test is then carried out to identify the air leaks.

Even though there may be an obvious object like a nail or screw, that doesn’t mean it is the only hole.

Once the puncture has been identified the repair is completed on the inside of the tyre.

The plug bonds with the tyre and ensures that no air is able to escape.

The repair itself takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
