Safety Tip - Brakes
Top 3 Brake Tips
- A change in the feel of the brake pedal is a good indication there’s a brake problem. Therefore if the pedal starts to feel soft (or worse, contacts the floor) do not drive the vehicle without first having it checked carefully by a qualified brake technician. Because loss of pedal ‘feel’ can indicate a very serious problem with your vehicle’s brakes which may result in sudden and unexpected failure.
- Noisy brakes can occur for many reasons. Squealing can occur due to brake pads being worn through to a stone being lodged between the disc and the rotor. Hence, best to have a qualified technician inspect the brakes as soon as possible.
- If your brakes are vibrating when applying them this may be caused by the disc pad or rotor having an uneven surface. Inspection by a qualified technician is required immediately.
