A Roadworthy Certificate lasts for:\u00a0<\/p>

You need a Roadworthy Certificate any time you register or transfer a registered motor vehicle.<\/p>
Most importantly, prior to listing your vehicle online you are required to have a valid Roadworthy Certificate.<\/p>

Note: <\/b>Paper copy Roadworthy certificate holders<\/p>
For example: if you are displaying the vehicle FOR SALE on the side of the road, you must display the Blue copy of the Safety Certificate.<\/p>
This includes approved public areas.<\/p>
Also, Driving with \u201cInterested?\u201d or \u201cBuy Me\u201d requires the displayed certificate.<\/p>
Failing to do so could result in a fine of $560 issued by Queensland Transport.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
The Roadworthy Certificate is designed to keep vehicles that are on the road in safe working order.<\/p>
Additionally, it can help you understand the repairs and maintenance required for your vehicle.<\/p>
It also, offers the buyer protection when purchasing that the vehicle meets the minimum safety standards.<\/p>
Most noteworthy, in the event of an accident, your vehicle may not be covered by insurance if it is deemed unroadworthy.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A Roadworthy Certificate Inspection covers only the basics that could affect the safe operation of the vehicle.<\/p>
Note:<\/strong> A roadworthy certificate doesn’t mean you have purchased a good vehicle.<\/p>
In other words, it means it’s passed the minimum requirement to be driven on Queensland roads at the time of inspection.<\/p>
You may still need to carry out servicing and repairs on the vehicle.<\/p>
Therefore, it is also recommended the you get a much\u00a0thorough inspection carried out known as a Pre-Purchase Inspection<\/a><\/p>
The categories that are checked \u00a0fo\u00a0roadworthiness\u00a0are:<\/p>
If the vehicle complies in all of these areas in accordance to the Code of Practice then the Safety Certificate is issued.<\/p><\/div>
Not to worry.\u00a0<\/p>
Queensland Transport allows you 14 days from the first inspection date to have the defects repaired.<\/p>
Once the repairs are completed we can issue the Roadworthy Certificate.\u00a0<\/p>
Most importantly, the repairs must be completed in accordance to the Code of Practice.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
Firstly, you need at least Compulsory Third Party Insurance on the vehicle<\/p>
Secondly, a copy of the Department of Transport\u2019s New Registration Application Form signed by the owner.<\/p>
