CL Inspection Brisbane
Changes in regulations will be in effect from Monday 4th September 2017 for all booked hire/rental hire vehicles such as Uber for their annual inspections. Previously, vehicles that have a purpose of use as a Personalised Transport Vehicle had the inspections conducted by Queensland Transport and Main Roads but this is all in the process of changing.
The major change is that Brisbane Uber drivers will have the choice of taking their vehicle either into Transport and Main Roads or an Approved Inspection Station such as M1 Safety Certificates. To make things even easier we are mobile and can come to you with our Approved Mobile Inspection Units.
The inspection required is an Online Certificate of Inspection (CL, COI). Typically a Certificate of Inspection is required for heavy vehicles but these are specialised vehicles requiring a yearly inspection. Trucks and heavy trailers have COI's each year, hence the Certificate being the same as a heavy vehicle.
Starting from 1st October 2017, Brisbane Taxis, Limousines and Special Purpose Limousines operators will also have the same option to have their vehicles inspected by Queensland Transport or and AIS.
Ineligible vehicles include registered school service vehicles, tourist and airport transfer vehicles and commercial minibuses.
