At M1 Safety Certificates our mechanics have extensive experience in diagnostics on a wide range of makes and models.
Modern vehicles have small onboard computer chips which operate many tasks that control the vehicle. They commonly alert the driver to issues with the vehicle via the dashboard.
These alerts can be from check engine lights through to air bag lights.
There are many different reasons why a engine light for example is turned on the vehicle's dash.
A scan tool is required to diagnose the issue correctly for the mechanic to then rectify the issue. Once the problem has been fixed, the code from the dashboard of the vehicle needs to be cleared.
Note: If you have any warning lights on your dashboard your vehicle will not pass a Safety Certificate. (Excluding a service due indicating light)
